Palladium USA is building the residential component of the $160 million project at U.S. Highway 67 and Interstate 20 in southwest Dallas. Plans include tearing down part of the old shopping center to build apartments, offices and additional retail and restaurants. A new Marriott Courtyard Hotel is also in the works.
“This partnership supports the continued vision of Reimagine Red Bird to transform Red Bird Mall into a work, eat, play, stay destination,” the developers said in a prepared statement. “Reimagine Red Bird and Palladium USA will announce the development of Palladium Red Bird Apartments, luxury residences with modern, upscale amenities, to the Oak Cliff community.”
Palladium USA CEO Tom Huth said that his firm plans to build 300 units in a 4-story building. It will be the first such apartment community built in that area for years. “It will have all the amenities,” Huth said. “We’ve got 70 percent affordable units and 30 percent market-rate apartments. “We’ve been working on this for about a year now and are excited to get going,” he said.
